Upcoming Show ~

Wow, how time flies. I feel like this year is just breezing by - I mean, I have (soon-to-be) first graders!

How does that happen?

Well aside from trying to catch my breath and slow days down, I have been working hard for this upcoming show.

I am super excited, so if you happen to be in Kirkland, WA on July 7th, swing on by!

Simple Entertaining with Rustic Touch ~

Entertaining | Inspiration

Do you ear mark your magazines, rip out the pages and then create a lofty stack of miscellaneous ideas? Well I am victim to the ginormous stack and decided it was time to go through and "Pin" some of the great ideas.

Here is one that I recently Pinned and has me inspired!
It was an article from Martha Stewart on a tasting party at New York City's Pasanella and Son Vintners.

I simply fell in love with the simple, rustic display.
Having the food grouped and piled together really makes a statement.
Here more is more
The Tiered display pieces lined in parchment paper are perfect.

The shop owner Marco Pasanella explains his secrets to entertaining - "It's all about abundance. Abundance means ease and enjoyment. There's just a certain kind of pleasure in bounty."

Lovely
I am envisioning a great glass of wine, yummy eats and great friends!

Living Room Seating ~

So a long story short - we had a leak in the family room, we had to put in new carpet, then the kitchen table didn't look good, then I moved the dining room table into the kitchen and now I have a living room again!

So I have been thinking of ways to arrange the seating and I really like this idea:

 hum...are you seeing a pattern?

Yep, I really like having four chairs around a coffee table/ottoman...hum...

How about you? Do you have couches are chairs?

Easter Project ~

Easter | Inspiration

I thought this would be a fun re-post with Easter right around the corner...
it was one of those timeless projects.

Also, I have a great $50 Urban Walls Giveaway going on right now
if it haven't entered be sure to check it out!

I recently picked up this egg at Michaels and my husband kept asking "What ARE you going to do with this?" Well I decided to transform my blue foam egg!

I started by spray painting it Heirloom White -

I then mixed together silver and gold paint and sort of "fauxed" the egg to give it a little texture -

And what egg is complete without a few dots -

Added a ribbon -

And I wanted to make a tag so I grabbed one of these frames I picked up at Michaels for $1 -

And put it all together-

I just love how it turned out!

Mini German Pancakes ~

Recipe | Food Inspiration

I just saw this recipe on Pinterest today.
I am thinking these would be perfect for Easter brunch, so I thought I would share.

Ingredients
1 cup milk
6 eggs
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. orange zest (optional)
1/4 cup butter, melted

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Blend first six ingredients (milk thru orange zest) in a blender.  Be careful to see that any flour clumps get well-blended.
  2. Blend in butter a little at a time in order to temper the eggs.
  3. Grease muffin tins well and distribute batter evenly between 24 tins (I did more like 18. Gimme Some Oven’s tins were slightly less than half-full.  I used a 1/4 cup measuring cup and filled it almost full.) Bake for 15 minutes, or until puffy and golden on top.
  4. Served with your favorite toppings.
The pin originated from Real Mom Kitchen.
Happy Sunday!

Cowboy and Cowgirl Party - Part 2 ~

Kids Birthday | Party Inspiration

So I thought I would post some of the details from the Cowboy Cowgirl Birthday Party.
It was a great theme! All the kiddos, both boys and girls, had a great time.

The dessert table was super fun to decorate - thanks Mom sooo much for helping!

My Mom made Rodeo S'More Pops - I mean really what cowboy party is complete without them?

They are super simple and they were such a hit!
I really had no idea how popular they would be.

To make these super easy dessert sticks, all you need is:
Graham Crackers, Melted Chocolate Chips, Large Marshmallows and Cake Pop Sticks.

image from gimme some oven

We had City Slicker Suckers that each kiddos got to take home. When I bought these online I thought they would be much larger, but the size worked.

The white tulips were perfect for the color scheme and my Mom had a the great idea to add sticks to the vase for that "rustic look".

For the High Noon Saloon backdrop, I attached a large stick from my backyard.
(I have even used it here for a shower and here for a Superbowl party)
My Mom and I wrapped the stick with some burlap ribbon and lasso rope. Then added a few details in with the hat, bandana and printable.

And every great party needs a little ale...Lone Ranger Ale of course.

For the glasses I bought a couple packages of mason jars and purchased some red and white paper straws. And we only had one glass break - not bad!

To add to the "western" theme, we had a few moo-cow balloons hanging around.

The gift bags were super easy.
I simply used brown lunch bags and attached the label with a little jute.

I customized each thank you card by adding each kid's Wanted Poster shot and name.
Which turned out super cute!

All the hoodlums had fun.

And we enjoyed all the smiles.

Had to do it...
